New to Neon in September

The Lovers (September 8) is a UK Sky Original comedy-drama about a foul-mouthed supermarket worker (Roisin Gallagher) and an urbane, political broadcaster (Johnny Flynn).

“This is not a story of opposites attracting,” reads the blurb. “This is a story of two divided people with very different backgrounds and backstories coming together.”

“If you’re in the market for a darkly funny romantic drama about a couple who, on paper, couldn’t be less suited, then put Sky’s The Lovers at the top of your to-watch list,” DramaRepublic said.

Telemarketers (September 12) is an acclaimed MAX documentary series about a high school dropout who exposes a billion-dollar scam.

“A truly stranger than fiction scandal is recounted with addictive aplomb in this gritty and farcical docuseries,” Rotten Tomatoes said.

Returning are Annika S2 (September 21), A Black Lady Sketch Show S4 (September 6) and a reinvented Project Greenlight: A New Generation (September 27), which focuses on the making of Meko Winbiush’s first feature, Gray Matter (which also can be streamed on Neon), while landing fresh from their Sky Open runs are Night Court (September 13) and the Carlos Spencer-Matua Parkinson travelogue Lost in France (September 22).
