New to Prime Video in April
Stephen Merchant’s comedy-thriller Outlaws will premiere next month on Prime Video, along with mind-bending western Outer Range, spy thriller All the Old Knives and true-life dramatisation A Very British Scandal, which will launch the same day as its predecessor, the outstanding A Very English Scandal.
Also new will be the ’80s Italian comedic crime drama series, Bang Bang Baby.
About a bored 16-year-old who becomes enmeshed in organised crime after discovering her supposedly murdered father is still alive, the 10-part series is in the Official Selection of the Cannes TV series festival Canneseries (April 1-6). Reads the festival programme notes:
In a total outburst of colours, visual effects, and characters – each more eccentric than the other – Bang Bang Baby skillfully combines different themes dear to Italian culture. Ariana Becheroni is a true revelation who shines through the screen. A genuine explosion.
Outlaws stars Merchant, Christopher walker and Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson in a comedy-thriller about seven strangers forced to work together to renovate a derelict community centre who unite when one of their number gets dragged into a world of organised crime.
Outer Range is a supernatural Western about a struggling rancher who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness.
Josh Brolin, Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor and Will Patton star.
In All the Old Knives, a CIA agent is assigned to root out the mole from among his former officemates at the Vienna station — an investigation that takes him from Austria to England to California, where he is reunited with his one-time colleague and ex-lover Celia Harrison.
Chris Pine, Thandiwe Newton, Laurence Fishburne and Jonathan Pryce star.
A Very British Scandal dramatises one of the most notorious, extraordinary and brutal legal cases of the 20th century: the divorce of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll.
Claire Foy and Paul Bettany star.
