New to Prime Video in August

The four-part finale of sci-fi comedy from Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill) leads August’s premieres on Prime Video.

The series is set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm.

And instead of dying, you’re “uploaded” to a virtual reality afterlife with all the comforts of a world-class resort — so long as you can afford it.

In S4, sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview (and the world!). On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IR, everyone is tested like never before.

Other premieres include:

The Pickup, an action-comedy in which a routine cash pickup takes a wild turn when two mismatched armoured truck drivers (Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson) are ambushed by ruthless criminals led by a savvy mastermind (Keke Palmer). As chaos unfolds around them, the unlikely duo must navigate high-risk danger, clashing personalities, and one very bad day that keeps getting worse. (View the trailer here.)

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel series with an origin story that follows Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) throughout his journey from the Navy SEALs to the clandestine side of CIA Special Operations. (View the teaser trailer here.)

Butterfly is a character-driven spy thriller centred an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative (Daniel Dae Kim) living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him and he finds himself pursued by a deadly, sociopathic young agent (Reina Hardesty) assigned to kill him. (View the trailer here.)

The Map That Leads to You, which follows a young woman setting on an adventure across Europe with her best friends where she crosses paths with a magnetic and mysterious stranger and embarks an emotional journey neither of them expected. Lasse Hallström (Dear John, Safe Haven) directs an adaptation of JP Monninger’s novel. (View the trailer here.)

Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues is a five-part docuseries about American football legend Tom Brady’s new mission statement for a club accustomed to sporting heartbreak: “We’re trying to make this a world-class team.” (View the trailer here.)
