New to Prime Video in July

This contemporary Sweeney Todd-inspired urban legend of love, betrayal, weed, cannibalism and survival of the fittest is based on the hit Spotify podcast series of the same name. After 16 years, Dolores Roach (Justina Machado) is released from prison and returns to a gentrified Washington Heights. She reunites with an old stoner friend, Luis (Alejandro Hernandez), who lets her live and work as a masseuse in the basement under his empanada shop. When the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, “Magic Hands” Dolores is driven to shocking extremes to survive. (View the official trailer here.)

ROBOTS (July 7)

In this sci-fi rom-com starring Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall, a womaniser runs into a gold digger. They both own physically identical robots, and when they both send their doubles on the date, neither of them expected their mechanical clones to fall in love and ditch their masters.

GOOD OMENS 2 (July 28)

Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, Good Omens 2 explores storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the ineffable friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare-book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley (David Tennant). Jon Hamm and Miranda Richardson co-star. (View the official trailer here.)

Also back for new seasons are The Hunt for Karl Lagerfeld’s Millions (July 4), The Summer I Turned Pretty (July 14), Made In Heaven (July 21), and Japanese action variety show Takeshi’s Castle (July 25).
