New to Prime Video in September

The Girlfriend is one of several new drama series driving September’s highlights on Prime Video.

It stars Bates Motel’s Olivia Cooke as a young woman who unravels the seemingly perfect family when her beau brings her home to meet his parents — and the mother (Robin Wright), happily married with a glittering career, immediately suspects her motives.

Is it paranoia? Or is she truly a manipulative social climber? (Check out the trailer here.)

The Runaways is a young adult drama about a group of high school graduates who form a rock band (and other attachments — view trailer here) while Top End Bub is spun off the movie Top End Wedding, in which the newlyweds unexpectedly become the guardians of an orphaned niece (view trailer here).

Other highlights include S2 of Gen V (trailer), the movie Poor Things (trailer) and the reason why The Naked Gun’s Liam Neeson turned to comedy, Ice Road: Vengeance (trailer).
