New to Prime Video in September
Early reaction to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power suggests it will rule all else next month on Prime Video but there’s still a notable selection of non-Middle Earth premieres to anticipate.
Jungle follows the connected lives of several strangers, each facing their own struggle, viewed through the prism of UK rap and drill music, and giving a perspective on an often unseen world.
The series is told through a unique blend of music and dialogue, working alongside creatively ambitious cinematography and design to create a tilted, timeless version of today’s London and brings to life a compelling and complex narrative.
Swimming With Sharks is a TV series take on the 1994 movie but with women in the principal roles.
Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men’s Sally) plays a Hollywood intern who becomes so obsessed with the boss she idolises (Diane Krueger) that she will do anything to get close to her, even kill.
Kathleen Robertson, Donald Sutherland and Finn Jones co-star.
Goodnight Mommy is a thriller about twin brothers who arrive home to find their mother’s face covered in surgical bandages and her demeanour so altered that they begin to suspect the woman beneath the gauze might not be her.
Naomi Watts, Cameron Crovetti, Nicholas Crovetti and Peter Hermann star.
My Best Friend’s Exorcism is another thriller about two high school pals whose fate lies in whether their friendship is powerful enough to beat the devil.
Also new will be the Julia Roberts Watergate drama, Gaslit, and another season of Luxe Listings Sydney.

I’m a massive The Hobbit, LOTR and Tolkien fan and from the trailers and interviews, this isn’t going to be Middle Earth. So, I for one will not be watching, but Amazon has been putting out some great content like Reacher and The Terminal List, so I’m not one of these boycott(ers).
YAY, No Way Home — I finally get to see it and of course, on Disney+, Thor : Love and Thunder September 8th ?
Interesting the LOTR Ep1 and 2 will be screened in cinemas. A streamer using cinema to promote a TC series. But not going to be in NZ cinemas that I can see …
It seems Wolverine is now in the MCU thanks to episode 2 of She-Hulk. Exciting ?
