New to Shudder in June

This month horror streaming service Shudder will premiere two exclusive movies and one original as well as pristine prints of Alligator and Alligator II: The Mutation that were scanned from the original camera negatives.

Shudder says the new prints are being made available for the first time on subscription video on demand.

Fans of the 1980 original also can import a triple-disc 4K-UHD release that The Digital Bits says “breathes new life into it by offering the finest presentation possible with a cavalcade of great extras. Snap this one up immediately.”

Stop-motion animation fans will be mad-keen to catch Mad God (June 16), the feature directorial debut of Phil Tippet, whose animation/sfx credits range from Starship Troopers and Jurassic Park to the Stars Wars franchise.

Billed as “an experimental animated film set in a world of monsters, mad scientists and war pigs”, it won several awards for its live-action and stop-motion, miniature sets and other innovative techniques, including Most Groundbreaking Film at the Fantasia International Film Festival.

Shudder’s second June exclusive, Offseason (June 10), stars Doctor Sleep’s Jocelin Donahue as a woman stranded on a remote island where here mother’s grave reportedly has been desecrated.

Shudder original Revealer (June 23) pairs a stripper and religious protester in a peep show booth where they try to survive the apocalypse in 1980s Chicago.
