New to Shudder in May
Horror streaming service Shudder will premiere four original or exclusive movies next month, including The Twin, which stars A Discovery of Witches duo Teresa Palmer and Steven Cree.
They play grieving parents who, following a tragic accident, relocate to the other side of the world with their surviving twin to build a new life — only for their time of healing in the quiet Scandinavian countryside to turn ominous when the truth about their dead son emerges and malicious forces attempt to take a hold of him.
It will stream from May 6 while another Shudder Original, The Sadness, will premiere on May 12.
The feature debut of writer and director Rob Jabbaz is set in Taipei, where bloody chaos erupts when ordinary people are compulsively driven to enact the most cruel and ghastly things they can imagine.
The Found Footage Phenomenon (May 19) is a documentary about the origins of the found footage technique and how it has been transformed technologically throughout the last few decades.
A Banquet (May 26) is about the widowed mother of a teenager who experiences a profound enlightenment and insists that her body is no longer her own, but in service to a higher power.
