New to SoHo in August
Years and Years (8.30 Mondays from August 19)
Emma Thompson stars in an epic saga from Russell T Davies, which takes an ordinary family and catapults them through the next 15 years. As society changes, faster than ever, the Lyons will experience everything we hope for in the future, and everything we fear. Society is hotter, faster, and madder, with a turmoil of politics, technology, and distant wars affecting the Lyons in their day-to-day lives. They’ll fall in and out of love, grow old, fall apart, and come back together – all the while constantly looking forward. Anne Reid, Rory Kinnear and Russell Tovey co-star.
Baptiste (8.30 Sundays from August 4)
From Harry and Jack Williams comes a thrilling spin-off from The Missing, starring Tchéky Karyo as the insightful but stubborn investigator Julien Baptiste. When he and his wife move to Amsterdam, he becomes embroiled in a case which peels back the layers of atrocity in the trade of sex, drugs, and people themselves. Tom Hollander and Jessica Raine co-star.
The ABC Murders (9.30 Wednesdays from August 21)
It’s 1933 and a killer travels the length and breadth of Britain via the railway network. Using the alias ABC, the murderer strikes in a methodical pattern, leaving a copy of the ABC railway guide at the end of each killing. As Inspector Poirot attempts to investigate he is thwarted on every front. If he is to match his most cunning nemesis, everything about him will be called into question: his authority, his integrity, and even his identity. John Malkovich, Rupert Grint and Shirley Henderson star.
Succession S2 (9.30 Mondays from August 12)
Begins where season one dramatically left off, with media mogul Logan Roy and his four children struggling to retain control of their empire – and while the future looks increasingly uncertain, it is the past which threatens to ultimately destroy them.
☞ Returning for Saturday box sets will be The Name of the Rose, Succession (S1), Chimerica, Hatton Garden, The Loudest Voice and City on a Hill.
