New to SoHo in January

Next month SoHo will premiere The Miniaturist, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Mosaic and season three of The Tunnel.

The Miniaturist is an adaptation of the best-selling novel about an 18-year-old in 1686 Amsterdam who goes to work for a merchant’s household where she is presented with an extraordinary gift: a doll’s house whose tiny creations mirror what is happening within the merhcant’s home in unexpected ways.

It stars Romola Garai (The Hour), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) and Alex Hassell (Anonymous).

The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story focuses on serial killer Andrew Cunanan and his previous four victims while exploring the fallout following his very public – and perplexing – execution of the much-loved and world-renowned designer.

It stars Édgar Ramírez (The Girl on the Train), Darren Criss (Glee), Ricky Martin (The Voice Australia) and Penélope Cruz (Murder on the Orient Express).

Sharon Stone, Beau Bridges and Garrett Hedlund star in Mosaic, a Steven Soderbergh series about the brutal New Year’s Eve disappearance of a prominent Summit, Utah resident and the four-year effort of law-enforcement officers and civilians to discover the truth behind the crime.

The Tunnel: Vengeance reunites Stephen Dillane and  Clémence Poésy for their last outing as Anglo-French cops in an investigation set amid post-Brexit hysteria, an escalating refugee crisis and the increasing threat of terror.

Also returning are Real Time With Bill Maher, Divorce and High Maintenance while one-off documentaries profile legendary Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee and explore the fallout from the 2015 death of a man in Baltimore police custody (The Wire’s Sonja Soho directs).

Also watch for Tokyo Project, a 30-minute short film, written and directed by Richard Shepard (Girls) and produced by Lena Dunham, about two Americans who share a brief encounter in Japan.
