New to SoHo2 in June

SoHo2 will premiere the Deadwood movie reunion a week after its HBO debut (June 7, 8.30).

It comes nearly 13 years after the drama concluded in 2006 and follows the 10-year reunion of the camp to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood.

Most of the original cast returns while among the newcomers is School of Rock’s Jade Pettyjohn. Reads the blurb:

Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds are reopened, as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought.

Star Ian McShane has downplayed expectations for the movie after viewing a rough cut. “I think it’s — yeah, it’s OK. Yeah, it’s good.”

But he warns fans not to “expect an episodic piece … It’s difficult when you’ve gotta make a two-hour movie of an episodic TV.”

SoHo2 also will premiere what’s been dubbed “Delhi DowntonBeecham House (8.30 Wednesdays from June 12).

Set in the late 1700s, it follows the fortunes of the residents of an imposing and beautiful mansion.

The Telegraph reports it will “challenge the view that Britain’s involvement in India was all bad” and stars Tom Bateman (Vanity Fair), Marc Warren (Safe), Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey), Leo Suter (Victoria), and Dakota Blue Richards (Endeavour).

On Tour With Asperger’s Are Us (8.30 Fridays from June 21) is an HBO Doco series about a four-man comedy troupe with Asperger syndrome on their most ambitious tour yet. Reads the blurb:

Since 2010, the sketch-comedy troupe Asperger’s Are Us has performed more than 100 shows in nine countries. Now, they’re hitting the road for their first cross-country tour … As they travel in an old RV that often leaves them stranded, the four endure highs and lows, playing for alternately enthusiastic audiences and nearly empty houses. This intimate, humorous series is an underdog story that features a group of talented and funny performers who embrace shared challenges while working toward one overarching goal: to make people laugh.

Also new will be S5 of Fear the Walking Dead (8.30 Sundays from June 9), S2 of Big Little Lies (1.00/8.30 Mondays from June 10) and the documentary, One Nation Under Stress (8.30, June 14), which investigates why the US has one of the lowest life expectancy rates in the west.

And back for Box Set Saturdays will be Fear the Waking Dead (S4a), Legion (S2), Big Little Lies, Veep (S1), Barry (S2), Veep (S7), Girls (S6), Silicon Valley (S4), Fosse/Verdon, Mike Judge Presents: Tales From the Bus, Dice (S1), Gentleman Jack and Deadly Class (S1).
