New to ThreeNow in April

The next seasons of 7 Days and David Lomas Investigates will stream first on ThreeNow.

Warner Bros. Discovery hasn’t disclosed when each will premiere on Three but their ThreeNow premieres is another sign of the broadcaster’s digital-first strategy.

Another local show that will stream ahead of its linear run is season two of cooking show Nadia’s Farm as will new local drama series Friends Like Her. Reads the synopsis:

Working mum-of-three Nicole and lady-who-lunches Tessa are best friends and have been since their backpacking days. In fact, Nicole is bearing a baby for Tessa. But when an earthquake devastates their small coastal town, Kaikōura, cracks also develop in the friendship.

Nicole and husband Liam struggle financially with a damaged motel while Tessa and Rob, Liam’s brother, prosper through a booming helicopter business.  As the dynamics between the two families begin to erode, the surrogacy deal is thrown into question, and Nicole starts to realise that everything her friendship with Tessa was based on is not as buried in the past as she thought.

After meeting over a shared traumatic experience while backpacking in Thailand, the girls made a promise: they’ll stick together forever. But is forever now up?

Also new next month are 2018 documentary Gypsy’s Revenge (April 1), S1-3 of Hannibal (April 7) and S2 of Selling the Hamptons (April 20).

Most of those decisions make sense if the company’s wanting to pursue a “digital first” strategy. But 7 Days seems like a very odd choice to stream first and broadcast on regular TV at a later date given the extreme newsiness of the show and how quickly topics/stories would date??

  2. In line with promoting new streaming shows coming up on linear platform,it would be good to see trailers for up coming new shows on the three now service & add them to a wish to watch list.
