New to ThreeNow in July

ThreeNow is starting to harvest riper fare from the Warner Bros. Discovery merger.
The first fruits largely have been limited to back catalogue content but next month will see the premiere of two Max (previously HBO Max) docuseries on the WBD streaming service.
It’s also adding two Sky staples to its July schedule: the first two Mystery Road seasons (July 2) and first three CB Strike mysteries: The Cuckoo’s Calling (July 12), The Silkworm (July 19), and Career of Evil (July 26).
Here are the highlights:
SmartLess: On the Road (July 1):
Exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the sold-out live tour ofJason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes’ podcast, SmartLess. Travelling from city to city across the US, the trio is joined by the likes of Conan O’Brien, Will Ferrell, Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, Kevin Hart, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and David Letterman. “The podcast only takes up about a third of the 45-minute long episodes,” Decider said of the six-part Max series. “The rest is just three close buddies on a road trip. And it’s pretty glorious.”

What Am I Eating? With Zooey Deschanel (July 3)
Another Max newcomer, in which Zooey Deschanel asks the tough questions about what we eat, explores common food mysteries and reveals the shocking truths big food manufacturers want to hide as she uncovers simple solutions to the question, “What am I eating?” Each episode dives deep into various food topics, including oils, organic fruits and vegetables, chocolate and breads. “I’m not an expert,” Deschanel told Variety. “I come at this as a mother who wanted to learn more about healthy eating for my kids.”

Safe Home (July 12)
Phoebe is a twenty-something professional who leaves her job at a prominent law firm to help a struggling family violence legal centre to stop looming funding cuts. As interconnecting stories unfold, relationships are tested, and the pressure mounts to save the centre. The Guardian dubbed the four-part SBS series a “gripping drama on Australia’s domestic abuse epidemic … Creator Anna Barnes endeavours to explore stories behind the statistics, using an arsenal of narrative and film-making techniques to bring them to life – from editing embellishments to voiceover narration and sporadic pockets of high drama”.

The CB Strike shows are excellent, they are well worth watching and reading 😁👍🏻
I wonder Philip if this is the beginning of the end of the Sky deal, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the year develops 🤔
I see SmartLess : On the Road is going to be on ThreeNow for 6 years so I assume it will be on the Max streaming service when we get it in New Zealand 🤔
