New to ThreeNow in March

One of the hottest-selling dramas at the London Screenings can be streamed in its entirety from March 22 on ThreeNow.

Gone is a psychological thriller starring Sherwood’s David Morrissey and Keeping Faith’s Eve Myles.

Morrissey plays the headmaster of an elite English private school who’s the chief suspect in his wife’s sudden disappearance; Myles is the investigating detective. Reads the blurb:

Designed as a Prime Suspect for a new generation, the show splits its perspectives between the professional and personal life of DI Annie Cassidy, and the case of Michael Polly – a complex man we will see navigate both grief and guilt as he dovetails between bereaved victim, and enigmatic suspect.

The six-part drama was written by George Kay (Hijack, Lupin, The Long Shadow).

The Revenge Club (March 1) is billed as a “darkly comic” six-part series based on the debut novel The Othello Club by J.D. Pennington:

The Revenge Club follows six lonely, hapless strangers brought together by a divorce support group, each reeling from betrayal and heartbreak. With little in common beyond their emotional baggage, they form an unlikely bond and come up with a wildly misguided idea: to take revenge on the people who broke their hearts.

What starts as a cathartic outlet quickly spirals into something far more chaotic, as their retribution escalates from petty pranks – forged exam papers, tarot cons, and rat invasions – to deadly accidents. As the group’s plans grow bolder, the line between justice and madness begins to blur – and someone might just take things too far.

Also new are:

  • season two of After the Flood (March 15), in which newly-promoted detective Jo Marshall investigates a baffling murder
  • S2 of Scottish girlfriends comedy Dinosaur (March 31), and
  • Kiwi newcomer Crackhead (March 12), about an addict who, after burning down her sister’s house, is given an ultimatum: jail or four weeks at a flash rehabilitation clinic in a remote community.

  1. Gone sounds like a strong pick-up, especially with David Morrissey and Eve Myles leading it. The “Prime Suspect for a new generation” comparison is a bold one. Do you think it lives up to that description, or is that more marketing hype than reality?

  2. The reviews aren’t in yet, as it doesn’t premiere on ITV in the UK until later next month, but the track record of the creator and the strength of the cast bode well for its aspirations.
