New to TVNZ+: April 4-10

Voltaire in Love (April 8) is a 2021 Franco-Belgian miniseries about the French philosopher before he helped to spearhead the Age of Enlightenment.
According to Variety, it reinvents the visionary thinker for the modern age in France:
The series stars Thomas Solivérès (The Intouchables; Cyrano, My Love) as a young Voltaire and traces his beginnings as an ambitious libertine wordsmith who courts aristocratic women, defies his family, recites emotive poems, and publishes provocative pamphlets that will see him sent to Bastille prison for 11 months when he is only 20 years old.
Also new are the return of Dance Moms: A New Era (April 5) and the special Bricks on Track (April 6), which goes behind the scenes of how 10 drivable LEGO F1 cars were designed and built to rev up the 2025 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade.
Spartan Bare Knuckle (April 5) is another documentary, about an underground fight club in the North of England, while docuseries Perfect Wife: The Mysterious Disappearance of Sherri Papini (April 6) explores what happened after a seemingly abducted young mother was found and “a new nightmare began”.
If the latter sounds familiar, ThreeNow has a rival series that streams from April 7.
Also new are The Miniature Wife and other TVNZ linear debuts, as previewed here.
