Deep Deception (June 19) is a three-part docuseries about Britain’s “spy cops” scandal, in which a secret unit of undercover police spied on members of the public for more than 40 years, including more than 60 women who were conned into intimate relationships with officers — five of whom went on to expose the skulduggery.

“Many of the women were engaged in nothing more subversive than small-scale anti-fascist or environmental campaigns, yet were seen as nuts to be cracked with a sledgehammer,” said The Guardian, which promised “you’ll be engrossed for three hours”:

It is a tale with all the twists, coincidences and courage that the intrigue-hungry viewer would want, told using tested true-crime tradecraft … The real value of this series, though, is in seeing the faces of the victims and hearing their anguish, which brings new clarity to the depth of the harm done.

The series first streamed two months ago on ITVX under the title of The Undercover Police Scandal: Love and Lies Exposed.

Here We Go is a 2022 BBC comedy that spawned a second season two years later. Both can be binged from June 14 .

Critics loved it, with The Telegraph declaring it “the most promising family sitcom for years … don’t be fooled by its ordinary appearance, this is a comic masterpiece”:

This gentle gem follows three generations of a Bedford-based family in all its messy, dysfunctional but ultimately loving glory. The put-upon parents, their eye-rolling offspring, the irritant in-laws, the meddling grandmother – all are present, correct and causing chaos … Here We Go deserves to fill the gap left by The Royle Family, Gavin & Stacey and Outnumbered.

Landing the same day as their linear debuts, as previewed here, are S11 of The Brokenwood Mysteries and S2 of The Secret Genius of Modern Life while streaming live from 5.45am on June 20 is the Matariki Day special, Matariki Mā Puanga (when you can also stream Shrek Te Reo).

Also new are S1-4 of Sky’s hospital drama New Amsterdam (June 15) while streaming from June 17 are the movies:
