New to TVNZ+: March 7-13

Stags (March 9) is a Paramount+ newcomer named after an exotic stag do that goes bad for eight mates from Britain who wind up in a South American prison run by drug-smuggling siblings.

“A stellar comic cast beautifully play this chronicle of a pre-wedding South American week of debauchery gone very, very wrong,” The Guardian said. “It’s a thrilling, albeit unexpectedly gory, ride.”

Radio Times dubbed it a “cross between The Hangover, Banged Up Abroad and the impossibly humid third season of Prison Break … [that] certainly isn’t your average prison drama” while the Sydney Morning Herald likened it to “part-Breaking Bad, part-InBetweeners“.

But The Telegraph dismissed it as “dated drama [with] all the wit, depth and subtlety of an actual stag-do abroad”.

More discerning viewers should opt for a quartet of new foreign language dramas from March 11.

Moloch is described as “a psychological drama about a troubled young journalist and a grieving psychologist brought together to solve the mystery of why local citizens are catching fire and burning to death”.

The Euro TV Place called it “slow-burn French supernatural drama” while the Wall Street Journal said “the characters regularly defy expectations, and clichés”.

Berlin Wall is an award-winning German period drama about two sisters and their families on opposite sides of the political fence before the wall fell.

Dopamine is a Danish drama about a Norwegian nurse who ratchets up the tension in colleagues’ troubled relationship while One Fateful Night concerns a chance encounter that turns into a nightmare for a young man seduced by a tormented stranger.

Sullivan’s Crossing returns for its third season on March 8 and from March 10 you can stream the movies Knight and Day and The Internship.

New from the same day is The Contenders 2026, a 40-episode companion to the 2026 FIFA World Cup that profiles all 48 competing nations.

And streaming live across five dedicated channels is the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games (9.30pm-10.30am daily from March 7).
