New to TVNZ OnDemand in June

TVNZ OnDemand is bustin’ out all over for June, with a slew of premieres, the return of Flack and The Twilight Zone, and express from the US, The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!

Here’s the trailer for the new Bachelor highlights show (weekly from June 9):

In each episode, host Chris Harrison will recap the highlights of his favourite seasons, complete with virtual catch-ups with fan-favourite Bachelor alumni.

Alex Rider (June 5) is based on the series of spy novels about a British teenager who learns he has been unwittingly trained for the dangerous world of espionage after his uncle is killed in the line of duty as a British spy.

“In trying to make Anthony Horowitz’s bestseller at once family friendly and grittier, the TV series could risk alienating viewers and fans of the books,” Radio Times said when it premiered this week on Amazon Prime Video UK.

The Nest (June 18) asks: how far would you go to have a baby? Sophie Rundle (Peaky Blinders, Bodyguard) stars in a gripping emotional thriller about a young woman who offers to be a surrogate mother for a wealthy couple.

The Guardian dubbed it “an engrossing new drama which explores moral issues – and maybe even darker themes” while The Telegraph pondered: “Sublime or ridiculous? This intriguing drama could go either way.”

Sam Neill joins Flack for its second season (June 1) while returning for their second seasons will be Jordan Peele’s take on Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone (June 26) and Swedish/Danish drama The Lawyer.

Box sets of two more foreign dramas will debut as part of the Walter Presents platform: Cover Story, about an investigative journalist at a tabloid newspaper in Iceland; and Code 37: Sex Crimes, a Belgium crime drama that ran from 2009-2012.
