New Trailers for Disney+ Diehards

Disney+ has released trailers for two sci-fi staples that next month return for new seasons: Doctor Who and Star Wars spin-off Andor.

In the Doctor Who trailer,  the Time Lord and his new companion Belinda Chandra adventure across time and space, from a futuristic 51st century to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest to becoming, in a series first, animated characters.

The eight-part second season premieres April 12, with subsequent episodes rolling out weekly.

It revolves around the Doctor’s epic quest to get Belinda Chandra back to Earth in the face of a mysterious force is jeopardising their return.

The new season stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra, and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday.

Guest stars includes Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung, Rylan Clark, Alan Cumming, Anita Dobson, Freddie Fox, Michelle Greenidge, Jonah Hauer-King, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave and Susan Twist.

Andor returns for its final season on April 23 (YouTube Andor content other than the trailer includes a sneak peek of S2, a 14-minute recap of S1, and the “Andor Season 1 with Tony Gilroy” event).

Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film.

Andor is set five years before Rogue One and depicts hero Cassian Andor’s transformation from a disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.

S2 unfolds as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance, as the stakes rise, and the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas become profound.

The 12 episodes are divided into four three-episode chapters, with a new chapter debuting each week.
