Interesting that MasterChef won’t air a Monday night episode, I thought it would be a multi-night show, possibly because of the intense competition from Shortland Street & MKR AU.

  2. I was surprised, too, Leo. I’d have thought they would have been maximising the franchise’s possibilities but it may be both a budget and scheduling issue given what they’ve been spending on local shows plus their pending multi-night commitment to The X Factor Oz.

  3. It seems like a wasted opportunity to screen it once a week. In regards to X Factor OZ, I know as you have stated previously that rate cards are notoriously unreliable but the latest Q4 schedule for MediaWorks has X Factor UK penciled in for late Aug/Sep. I really hope they air this version, after all this is where The X Factor phenomenon began.

  4. I imagine TV3 will follow X Factor Oz’s run with X Factor UK. That’s the plan at this stage if the network stays true to its advance schedules. You’ll be pleased to learn that next month TV3 also will launch a second, weekly instalment of MasterChef.

  5. Seems like a bit of overkill to run both series back to back, audience fatigue may harm ratings for the UK version and the prospects of a potential third season of X Factor NZ in 2016. May be The OZ version could get an outing on the neglected FOUR, which is dying for new content with all its wall to wall movies. Great news that MC fans will get a second serving.
