Is Jono and Ben not on any more?

  2. The last episode of this season airs 7.30 Thursday. Modern Family and True Story with Hamish & Andy will replace it from October 19. https://www.screenscribe.net/channels/home-sweet-home-for-modern-family/

  3. Would be great to see some Maori TV shows featured now it’s in HD for the past month 🙂

  4. I agree, Josh, but despite repeated requests for HD details, Maori TV continues not to provide them. Broadcasters’ attitudes re identifying HD content in the programme billings they send media are mixed at best. MediaWorks is tops, identifying programmes that are in HD and that have 5.1 audio. TVNZ identifies some of its programmes as being in HD but doesn’t provide 5.1 confirmation. Prime does neither but at least responds when asked if a programme will be in HD. I approached Maori TV long before it went HD hoping to set up an arrangement where I would be sent HD details. I did so again, after it announced it was going HD. And again when it was broadcasting in HD. In the end, if a broadcaster isn’t willing to furnish these details, that’s their puzzling prerogative.

  5. Thanks for that, Philip. Wow! Explains how it works behind the scenes, such a shame that broadcasters in 2017 are not being proactive with the HD content including 5.1 which I see on the EPG these days. Great work, though, hopefully they pick up the pace with confirming details.

  6. Cheers, Josh. The good news is 99% of primetime content on TVNZ and Three is now HD, and Prime’s not far behind.

  7. Hi Phil … are you kinda hinting here and trying to tell us something you cant REALLY tell us in regards to Prime in HD on Freeview being launched soon?!?

  8. ‘fraid not, Rosco. Merely trying to provide an insight into one of the reasons I set up this site: to provide a (fairly) comprehensive guide to what’s screening on FTA and Sky in HD. Other than MediaWorks, broadcasters haven’t been interested in promoting the benefits of HD. Given the taxpayer dollars behind Maori TV’s transition to HD, it amazes me it’s not more willing to provide details of its HD schedule. The prospect of Prime going HD on Freeview remains remote given its persistently low ratings. There’s still a significant cost to upgrading to HD and given Sky’s losing subscribers amid unprecedented competition post-Netflix, and cranking up its advertising and marketing to combat this, investing in an HD FTA platform for Prime continues to be low down on its priorities list. So its HD schedule will continue to be limited to Sky subscribers.
