NZ-Filmed Series to Debut on Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for a series filmed in NZ that will stream from December 11.

The Wilds is APV’s first young adult drama and the season premiere also will be streamed for free on Amazon Prime Video YouTube from December 11-25.

The 10-episode series is billed as “part-survival drama, part-dystopic slumber party” that follows a group of teenage girls from different backgrounds who must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. Reads the blurb:

The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama … these girls did not end up on this island by accident.

The cast includes Rachel Griffiths, Golden Boy’s Erana James and Grey’s Anatomy’s Sophia Ali.

The Wilds was co-produced by Amazon Studios and ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, and created by Sarah Streicher (Daredevil).
