Psychopath Premiere Popular

TVNZ 1’s new true-crime documentary, Married to a Psychopath, drew more 25-54 year-olds than the previous week’s season final of Murder in the Family.

Monday’s premiere averaged 2.67% of the network’s most coveted commercial demographic to deliver a 22.90 share and 54,737 viewers.

It won the 8.30 hour against TVNZ 2’s The Rookie (1.94 rating/13.91 share) and Three’s 9-1-1 (1.97 rating/16.95 share).

Lead-out 20/20 maintained the network’s 25-54 dominance, averaging a 1.46 rating/20.77 share vs a 1.25 rating/14.80 share for The Rookie: Feds and 0.45 rating/6.44 share for a 9-1-1 rerun.

At 7.30, Three’s Tracked maintained its viewership, with a 2.42 rating/14.38 share. But TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia dipped week-on-week, from a 4.21 rating/24.43 share to 3.60 rating/20.31 share due to the higher popularity of TVNZ 1’s Fair Go and Border Security.

The former improved to 5.23 rating/30.42 share and the latter to a 4.12 rating/25.74 share.

The most-watched 25-54 shows of the night were 1 News at 6pm, the second half of The Chase, Seven Sharp, Fair Go, Newshub Live at 6pm, Shortland Street, Border Security, The Project, MasterChef Australia and the opening half-hour of The Chase.

Four of the top five screened on TVNZ 1 while TVNZ 2 and Three each had two shows in the top 10.
