Rialto Channel to Go HD Next Week
At last, 20 years after its launch, Sky’s Rialto Channel will go HD.
The changeover will occur on Wednesday (September 18), when all of the schedule will be in 1920 x 1080i.
Although it’s been a month since Rialto signalled it was going HD, the channel started licensing content in HD earlier this year.
HD highlights will include:
- Stray, directed by Kiwi filmmaker Dustin Feneley
- Crime Stories (Thursday nights in October)
- Destroyer, starring Nicole Kidman
- Vox Lux, starring Natalie Portman
- Colette, starring Keira Knightley
The NZ TV premiere of McMafia and a Spotlight season of Lars von Trier movies also will be in HD.
The latter will include Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark, Antichrist and Melancholia.
