Schedule Watch: December 7
60 Minutes fans can enjoy two hours of their favourite newsmag this weekend when Prime airs two editions on Sunday night at 9.40 and 11.40. Both programmes aired in October on CBS but Prime isn’t trying to catch up to the US — it’s simply compensating for 60 Minutes not airing last Sunday.
In the first broadcast, Presidential candidate Joe Biden discusses the state of his campaign, the Trump impeachment inquiry and Facebook while Scott Pelly investigates efforts to save the giant panda; in the second, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman talks for the first time about the death of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi and examines disturbing behavioural changes in great white sharks.
This weekend’s season final of Sunday (TVNZ 1, 7.30) recycles the year’s best stories.
Tuesday’s 20/20 (TVNZ 1, 9.40) unravels the case of missing scholar Yingying Zhang, including the disturbing role Brendt Christensen, a university teaching assistant, played in her disappearance.
Booked for Prime’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert are:
- Monday: Pharrell Williams, Chris Parnell, the Weeknd
- Tuesday: Saoirse Ronan, Tom Brokaw
- Wednesday: Clive Owen, Florence Pugh, Jon Batiste
- Thursday: Ed Harris, Samantha Power, Thomas Rhett
- Friday: Rep. Adam Schiff.
And lined up for TVNZ 1’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show are:
- Monday: Rob Lowe
- Tuesday: Jimmy Kimmel
- Wednesday: Will Smith
- Thursday: Eddie Murphy
- Friday: Oscar Isaac.
