Schedule Watch: February 9

TVNZ 2 has pulled its previously scheduled post-Oscars Red Carpet special. On The Red Carpet After the Oscars was to have aired 11.10 Monday night but now “won’t meet our delivery requirements”, a spokesperson says. However, the behind-the-scenes half-hour will screen 3.20am on February 16, after an overnight re-run of the ceremony that will screen live from 2pm Monday (a repeat of Mom will now screen tomorrow night at 11.10).

TVNZ 1 has flipped the running order of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Jamie’s Ultimate Veg. This week the former will switch from 7.30 Thursday to 8.30, with the premiere of the new Jamie Oliver series going head-to-head with Three’s Zumbo’s Just Desserts at 7.30. I haven’t seen last week’s ratings but January 30’s broadcast of Just Desserts creamed Millionaire in the 25-54 demographic.

Three has added a late-night Married at First Sight Australia bonus. The latest season premieres tonight after the final of The Block Australia and will be followed by Talking Married. The 10-minute recap will screen after each episode of the Sunday-Wednesday strip. Last week’s return of MAFS in Australia attracted a whopping 1,154,000 viewers, beating out rival reality shows MKR and Survivor as well as ratings juggernauts Seven and Nine news”.

Prime is dropping Super League Fulltime from 6.00 Wednesdays. Replacing it this week will be IAAF Indoor World Tour Highlights and next week, French Top 14 Highlights Show.

On 60 Minutes (Prime, 11.35 Sunday), Bill Whitaker descends deep into the Earth to explore gold mining in South Africa and Anderson Cooper goes to Easter Island to shed light on why the famous stone statues are fading away under the elements.

Ray O’Leary, Lloyd Langford and Madeleine Sami will appear on Wednesday’s Have You Been Paying Attention? (TVNZ 2, 8.30).
