Schedule Watch: June 30

This week’s Real Time With Bill Maher (SoHo/2, various times) is the last new broadcast until August. According to Deadline, “The realpolitik host mocked, minimised, and maligned the Trump administration’s extraterrestrial ambitions while also taunting the ‘nerd’ citizenry who clutch to the space programme despite its exorbitant impracticality … Here’s an idea: instead of going to Mars, how about we just stop treating Earth the way Led Zeppelin treated hotel rooms?”

On tonight’s Sunday (TVNZ 1, 7.30): The Fox River rubbish spill is an eco-disaster in the middle of a pristine National Park. But with many historic landfills across the country, could this same hazard make its way to your community?

Tonight’s Top Gear (Duke, 8.30) is all about charged horsepower as the team attempts to build budget sports cars powered by electricity! And Chris reviews the new Tesla model 3 and compares it with rivals models on the track.

On tonight’s 60 Minutes (Prime 9.30), Scott Pelley finds out if phones could be the next ransomware target, Bill Whitaker reports on the little-known, but devastating disease FTD, and Jon Wertheim meets a unique Inuit performer.

Monday’s Fair Go (TVNZ 1, 7.30) explores a classic neighbours-at-war battle over a fence and the view it now hides.

On Tuesday’s 20/20 (TVNZ 1, 9.30), Elizabeth Vargas will continue her report on the murder case of Michele MacNeill, who died from her husband’s deadly cocktail of drugs after a cosmetic surgery — and whose family continues to seek justice.

Prime will screen an extended live edition of Breakdown on July 6, from 2.00-3.00, when Stephanie Langridge, Kirstie Stanway, Jeff Wilson, Mils Muliaina and others will discuss the new All Blacks squad.
