Schedule Watch: May 27

Three is pulling I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! after weeks of abysmal ratings and relocating it to 2.30 weekdays. Replacing it at 4.30 will be Entertainment Tonight, at 5.00 a repeat of Family Feud Australia and at 5.30 re-runs of Modern Family’s ninth season. The changes apply until Love Island UK’s debut on June 5.

Three is adding a Road Cops re-run to next week’s Wednesday night schedule. Episode five of season four will air 9.50, after Magnum P.I.. This will push back Newshub Late to 10.15, 9-1-1 to 10.45 and Entertainment Tonight to 11.45.

Prime’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert goes into re-runs over the US summer. If you missed these episodes first-time around, here’s what’s lined up:

  • Monday: The cast of The Big Bang Theory.
  • Tuesday: Pre-empted by ICC Cricket World Cup.
  • Wednesday: Chris Cuomo, Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins, James Taylor.
  • Thursday: The cast of Veep.
  • Friday: Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil, Pete Holmes, The National.
  • June 3: Anne Hathaway, Ari Melber.

Thursday afternoon’s Late Show encore also is being pre-empted by sport. Hot Bench will screen at 2.00 so 1st XV Rugby Live: Christchurch Boys vs Christ’s College can screen from 2.30. The rugby also will pre-empt Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy while another repeat of Hot Bench will replace The Chase Australia at 4.30.

Prime’s also adding an ICC highlights package to its overnight coverage on Tuesday. It will follow the 9.20 live telecast at 1.05am instead of Storage Wars. The 2nd innings will start 15 minutes earlier at 1.20am.

Tonight’s Fair Go (TVNZ 1, 7.30) will continue its investigation into Gulf Harbour Healthcare and the ways we can best protect ourselves and the most vulnerable in our community.

Finally, don’t miss this week’s Real Time With Bill Maher (SoHo/2, various days) to see what sparked Twitter rage following guest Fran Lebowitz’s suggestion the US turn over President Trump “over to the Saudis, his buddies – the same Saudis who got rid of that reporter.”
