SD Befalls Falling Skies on Sky
Sky has picked up the war-of-the-worlds drama series TV2 quit, Falling Skies, but not in HD.
The Steven Spielberg production, which first aired here 15 months ago, will resume on Sky’s SD entertainment channel, The Box, from April 7, in the 9.30 Sunday slot.
There’s more bad news for fans impatient to see season two: The Box is starting Falling Skies from episode one, season one.
That means new eps won’t be seen here until June at the earliest — which is when they will be released on Blu-ray in the US.
The Complete Second Season will include audio commentaries, a set tour and behind-the-scenes extras, and will go on sale on June 4, just ahead of season three’s US premiere.
Presumably, The Box will air season three directly after season two, which will be some compensation for it not being in HD.
Meanwhile, the Blu-ray of another sci-fi/fantasy series that’s been held back here, Arrow, is tentatively scheduled for a September release in the US.
By then, it should have started on TV2, where it will air in HD.
In the meantime, TV2 is shortly to resume season one of Revolution, with the producers promising the best is yet to come.

Glad I’ve already seen season two of Falling Skies.
This falls into the ‘why bother’ box …
