Sharp to Launch Mega Deluxe Display

Sharp NZ will release the world’s biggest consumer LCD-LED TV next month for $15,000.

The 80-inch LC80LE940X is the latest addition to Sharp’s AQUOS Quattron HDTV range.

It has double the screen area of a 55-inch display and is being launched during Sharp’s centenary year.

What’s more, it may be displaced by a 90-inch model at the end of the year.

“Offering USB multimedia display capabilities, the Sharp 80-inch AQUOS Quattron is the perfect large-screen centrepiece for a ‘dream’ in-home entertainment centre or dedicated home theatre.”

Other features include:

  • Internet and web browser ready
  • LAN terminal for movies, photos and music via Microsoft Windows 7
  • Skype calling and YouTube video streaming
  • AQUOS LED backlighting and 3D brightness booster
  • Yamaha Audio Engine and TruSurround sound system.
