Shorty Spearheads Top Talent for 2
TVNZ 1’s Friday night favourites The Repair Shop and The Dog House were clobbered in the key commercial demographic by TVNZ 2’s Britain’s Got Talent and Australian Survivor.
They did so on the back of Shortland Street (107,515 viewers aged 25-54) crushing both Seven Sharp (72,594) and The Project (59,627), making the soap the second most popular show of the night in this demo.
BGT won the 7.30 hour with 79.666 viewers vs 40,390 for The Repair Shop.
The former averaged a 3.88 rating/28.46 share and the latter a 1.97 rating/15.06 share.
At 8.30, Australian Survivor averaged 44,806 adults (2.18 rating/17.81 share) and Dog House 35,504 (1.73 rating/14.10 share).
Three’s movie Snakes on a Plane landed 36,434 viewers for a 1.78/14.34 share.
TVNZ 1 gained ground with Kirstie & Phil’s Love It or List It Brilliant Builds averaging 29,446 (1.43 rating/13.87 share) against 21,984 (1.07 rating/11.12 share) for Three’s Deadliest Catch and 13,574 (0.66 rating/5.27 share) for TVNZ 2’s Dinner Date.
The night’s most watched shows in the 25-54 demo were: 1 News, Shortland Street,The Chase (5.30), Newshub Live at 6pm, Britain’s Got Talent, Seven Sharp, The Project, Home and Away, Australia Survivor and The Chase (5.00).
The channel shares were: TVNZ 1, 26.08; Three, 20.64; TVNZ 2, 18.72; Duke, 4.39; Bravo, 4.18; Rush, 1.72; Prime, 1.54; Eden,0.76; HGTV, 0.13.
