Sky Boosts Schedules With HBO Max and Retro Movies

Sky Box Sets’ September line-up has been rejigged to include two of the HBO Max acquisitions it announced today.

Gossip Girl S1A will replace The Magicians S5 overnight on September 6/7; Magicians will usurp The Third Day on September 13/14.

And replacing Mrs Fletcher S1 on September 23/24 will be Genera+ion S1.

Even before Sky announced its new HBO Max deal, it was adding extra content to entertain subscribers during lockdown.

Neon has had several additions and accelerated premieres while Sky’s new Collection movie channel has expanded its September slate and dumped its ’80s movies double-bills for 24-hour schedules.

Additions include:

  • War movie Ashes in the Snow
  • ’80s movies Young Guns, Dressed to Kill, Roxanne, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Three Amigos!, Crossroads, An American Werewolf in London, Red Heat, A Fish Called Wanda, Conan the Destroyer, Escape From New York, Family Business and When Harry Met Sally
  • Drama movies Archive, Ride Like a Girl, Waves, Savage, Lizzie, Only, The Lost Husband, Red Joan, The Kindness of Strangers, Radioactive, The Rest of Us, Lost Transmission, Ordinary Love, Little Women, The Glorias, Milk, Acquainted, The Other Boleyn Girl, Richard Jewell, Resistance, Queen & Slim, Touchback, Once Were Warriors, The Soloist, Icebox, The Thomas Crown Affair, 8 Mile, Frost/Nixon and We Are Your Friends.
