Sky Goes for Rio Gold

Sky will dedicate 10 pop-up channels to its “unprecedented” coverage of the Rio Olympics but only four will be in HD.

However, there will also be HD coverage on Sky Sport 3 and 4 as well as on Prime (from 11pm-3pm daily plus highlights packages and streaming on www.primetv.co.nz).

Closed captions for deaf and hard of hearing viewers will be available on much of Prime’s coverage, including the opening and closing ceremonies.

Here’s the list of Rio channels, which will be grouped together:

255 Rio Pop-up 1 (HD)  Live events, highlights and Black & Gold (Stephen McIvor hosts the best of the day’s Kiwi action).

256 Rio Pop-up 2 (HD)  Live events and highlights.

257 Rio Pop-up 3 (HD)  Live events and highlights.

258 Rio Pop-up 4 (HD)  Live events and highlights.

259 Rio Pop-up 5 (SD)* Dedicated ad-free coverage of live events from the host broadcaster.

260 Rio Pop-up 6 (SD)* Ad-free coverage of live events from the host broadcaster.

261 Rio Pop-up 7 (SD)* Ad-free coverage of live events from the host broadcaster.

262 Rio Pop-up 8 (SD)* Ad-free coverage of live events from the host broadcaster.
