Sky Launches App for Android Users
Amid revelations its next-generation decoders could include voice and motion control, and ahead of extending iSky to tablets, Sky has launched an Android app for subscribers to remote record their My Sky PVRs.
It does everything Sky’s Apple app does and can be downloaded for free from Google Play, or text SKY to 212 for a download link. (For more information visit www.sky.co.nz/android).
Sky’s Apple app has exceeded the satcaster’s expectations, generating more than 210,000 downloads, and the Android version offers the same conveniences.
Listings for all Sky and FTA channels are included so My Sky subscribers can remotely record shows to their PVRs at home or book a recording of Sky Box Office Movies or Sky Arena events.
Reminder alerts can be set for programmes and users can create their own channel guides. Content also can be shared through social media, email or SMS.
One of the most popular features of the Apple app is search functionality. With this, Android users can search for programmes on every channel through their portable device without interrupting their viewing.
