    The BFG was suppose to be on Netflix today but I notice it’s not on, I guess it’s because of stupid Sky, I wish Netflix would fight back and take Sky to court 🙁

    On what grounds? For buying the rights? Should NZ companies take Netflix to court for getting the rights for, say, Star Trek? Should TV3 take Netflix to court for House of Cards (when it had screened S1 and S2)? Really, Trevor? Get back in the real world.

    Well, when Netflix say they are going to screen a movie in New Zealand, they should stand by it as it does make them look bad 🙁

    This is the same Netflix that didnt seem to know who had the NZ rights to House of Cards S3 for almost 12 months? Its own property, not something it bought the rights to?Inadvertently listing a film that it appears that it doesnt have the rights to is a poor look but it seems a little absurd to sue an existing rights holder for having the contractual property rights.

    I suspect these movies not appearing on Netflix (Finding Dory last month) is down to Sky Movies Disney. I assume the PR is more directed at Australia (where there is no Foxtel Disney movies equivalent I believe) than NZ and as such there’s a few discrepancies which aren’t caught in the PR guff. Could be completely wrong, though.

    You’re completely right, Clint. Whenever a company treats NZ as an offshoot of Oz, it’s incredibly hard for NZ media to get accurate and timely info. Witness the fiasco over House of Cards last year. I will try to scrutinise future Netflix updates more thoroughly so Disney fare doesn’t slip through.

    I’m sorry Trevor, but, I disagree, I have Sky and the kids love Sky Disney. Also your analogy could go all the way up as it’s sad the UK Netflix is better than Aus, Brazil is better than UK and the US is better than everyone else.
