Sky Movies Premieres in June

This is another spy movie spun off a TV series but, refreshingly, isn’t a brash reboot. While most of the characters are new, original star Peter Firth still commands centrestage as counter-terrorism boss Harry Pearce. Only this time MI5 is after him, led by ex-spook Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) who also has a score to settle with his old boss. While bigger in scale than the TV show, The Greater Good is just as gritty and grounded, albeit with one too many implausible twists to realise its John le Carre aspirations.

TV espionage spin-offs abound on Sky, with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and this big-screen version of Spooks that, refreshingly, isn’t a brash reboot. Love & Mercy is definitely worth watching, it’s excellent 🙂

  2. Quite agree, Trevor. Easily one of the best movies of 2015. The touching performances, vintage pop and deft, balanced storytelling made it as memorable as Brian Wilson’s music
