Sky Relaunches Two Crime Channels

Sky giveth and Sky taketh away: its ‘newest’ channels are genre rebrands of Sky 5 and Vibe.

Launching October 22 are Sky Justice, which usurps Sky 5 as a showcase for law-and-order action, and Sky Suspect, which replaces Vibe as a platform for mysteries.

The rebranding consolidates Sky’s entertainment tier into genre-specific content. It follows Comedy Central’s transition to Sky Comedy and Sky Drama succeeding HBO. Per Sky:

Sky Justice will be the destination for procedural crime content, such as Marshals, FBI, Boston Blue, CIA, and S.W.A.T: Exiles, while Sky Suspect will be a channel for armchair detectives who love the murder-mystery genre and wish to follow the clues, connect the dots and crack cases, with titles to include Saint-Pierre, Vera, Broadchurch, The Chelsea Detective, and The Bay.

The channel numbers will remain the same and the rebranded channels will still be part of the Sky Starter Package. Sky’s also shifting Face TV to channel 83.

  1. You’re old if you remember when Sky5 was called Orange. — Paul W.

  2. I do! I remember the old Orange TV promos. That was back in the day when there was still very limited “other channel” options, so it was quite exciting. Very much a TV2-style of station with good US action and comedy shows. — Dave.
