SoHo Lifts Thrones Game to Screen It Within Hours of HBO
Just when you thought SoHo was losing its mojo, with also-rans like Banshee, Hunted and Durham County, Sky has announced its premium HD drama channel will air season three of Game of Thrones within three-and-a-half hours of its HBO broadcast.
It will screen 8.30 Mondays from April 1, a month after season two’s release on Blu-ray.
That’s not only an ultra-fast turnaround but also a big turnaround from last year, when SoHo launched the second season two weeks after its HBO debut and then broadcast episodes a week apart.
Season three is adapted largely from “A Storm of Swords,” George RR Martin’s third book in his “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
According to the publicity, family and loyalty are the overarching themes and many critical plot points from the first two seasons will come to a violent head, with several major characters meeting cruel fates.
If you’re not a SoHo subscriber but have a basic Sky package, you’ll be able to see the season three premiere on iSky and Sky On Demand from April 3-17.

Looking forward to season two on Blu-ray next week 🙂

Awesome show. Can’t wait for the new season to start. Whilst not as good as Game of Thrones, I don’t consider Banshee, Durham County or Hunted also rans. They are all decent shows in my opinion.
