SoHo to Double Up Twin Peaks
Sky will precede SoHo’s May 22 premiere of Twin Peaks with another chance to see the original series from 27 years ago.
Seasons one and two of the 1990-91 cult hit will play back-to-back on pop up channel 210 from May 19.
Inexplicably, Sky has secured an SD version of the series — despite its HD remastering for last year’s international Blu-ray release.
It’s yet another blow for Kiwi fans of the David Lynch sensation, which has yet to be released here on Blu-ray (but hopefully will be now the reboot is about to air).
Season three reprises most of the original cast and will screen 8.30 Mondays, starting with a two-hour premiere.
SoHo subscribers also will have exclusive access to episodes three and four on Sky Go and On Demand, which will air back-to-back on May 29.
Also new to SoHo in May will be seasons two of Versailles (8.30 Tuesdays from May 2) and Hap and Leonard (8.30 Sundays from May 7), and Rock and a Hard Place (May 15, 9.30), an HBO documentary about a group of sentenced juvenile offenders who spend 16 weeks in the Miami-Dude boot camp programme instead of serving potentially long prison sentences for their crimes.
