Sky Sport Update: Coming Soon
As Sky Sport comms notes in its latest update of how programmers are filling the gaping holes in their schedules, “It probably comes as no surprise to you that our content team has a lot of balls in the air right now.”
Here’s what they’ve pulled out of the hat to try to stop subscribers from deserting:
NEW AND NOTABLE
Supercars Eseries and IndyCar and NASCAR iRacing
If it’s virtual, we have it. April 8 sees the inaugural Supercars All Stars Eseries start their engines – all racers are taking part and ain’t no-one leaving anything in the tank. By all accounts SVG is the one to beat, but who knows?! See here for a quick update on the commentary team: https://www.supercars.com/news/allstars-eseries/eseries-commentary-team-round-1-format-revealed/
Then we are BEYOND EXCITED to announce we have both IndyCars and NASCAR iRacing revving up later in April – we’ll update you on the schedule as soon as we can. Scott McLaughlin has already shown he has what it takes; earning himself a virtual ring. Can he repeat his success!?
Netball ISO-Zone: Weds 8:30pm on SS3 and NETFIT NZ: Tues, Thurs, Sat – 1- 3pm
Netball ISO-Zone will bring you your weekly netball fix. We’ll be catching up with players around the country and delving into our archives to bring you highlights of the best matches and thoughts from the people that played in them. Plus, we’ll be travelling around the globe to check in with our netball family overseas. This week we catch up with Tactix coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek, Stars captain Grace Kara and head to England to hear from England netball star, Ama Agbeze.
Coming up too is NETFIT: a fantastic new partnership with Netball New Zealand and ANZ New Zealand who have joined with global Netball fitness, skills and wellbeing organisation NETFIT to launch NETFIT NZ. The partnership will give the New Zealand netball community free access to live online work-outs delivered by elite netball players during New Zealand’s COVID-19 Level 4 lockdown. The NETFIT NZ programme will be live on Sky Sport 3 from 1-3pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and also available through www.netfitnetball.com. The sessions will be led by former Silver Fern Courtney Tairi and current Silver Fern Laura Langman. This will be announced by media release tomorrow morning.
US Masters – living with the ‘other’ Tiger king
Long before *that* Tiger King there was the one who changed golf forever. We are so delighted to bring the best of the best to your screens with the King of golf – Tiger Woods. He roared back with a vengeance in last year’s Masters and we’re reliving that victory again, along with some other classic Tiger rounds. We have three fantastic wins from 1997, 2005 and 2019 on Sky Sport 6, from Thursday 9 April.
Crowd Goes Wild – Lockdown edition
The team is now ‘WFH’ like many others in Aotearoa and managing to bring sports news with a twist as they always have. New shows every Tuesday and Thursday, 7pm on Prime and 8.30pm on Sky Sport 6, with lookbacks on Mon and Wed with favourite sports and CGW moments. Ric Salizzo, the boss, has challenged everyone to become legends of the lockdown by re-enacting their favourite sporting moments from the comfort of home. That will definitely be interesting!
