Streaming Catch-Up: More of The Terminal List, Slow Horses & Scrubs

Season two of Prime Video’s The Terminal List will stream from October 21, when all eight episodes land.
The hit adaptation of Jack Carr’s spy novels follows Navy SEAL Commander James Reece (Chris Pratt) as he battles unknown conspiratorial forces seeking to upend the world order.
S2 is based on Carr’s second novel, True Believer, which charts Reece’s violent redemption across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
Here’s the trailer.
“This season is a love letter to the special operations community,” star Chris Pratt says.
“I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen. It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame.
“Yes, it’s an action thriller, but there’s also real beauty and poetry in it. At its heart, this season is dedicated to the men and women who do this work—the people who operate in the shadows, make extraordinary sacrifices, and rarely ask for recognition.
“We wanted to honour them and get it right. I couldn’t be more proud of what we made.”
Prime says so far The Terminal List franchise has accumulated 100 million-plus viewers worldwide.
Apple TV confirmed an eighth season of its spy drama, Slow Horses, ahead of Wednesday’s acclaimed S6 premiere.
S7 already is in the can and S8, which starts filming shortly, will be based on the ninth novel in Herron’s Slough House series, Clown Town. Per the blurb:
Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner face off in their most explosive confrontation yet. When a botched attempt to blackmail the Park puts Taverner on the offensive, it is up to Lamb to unravel one of MI5’s darkest secrets and put an end to it once and for all.
S5 won an Emmy Award this week for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Saul Metzstein). It was one of 29 Emmy wins for Apple TV, led by Widow’s Bay’s 14 trophies.
Unlike other streaming dramas, where there can be 2-3 years between seasons, the Slow Horses team has churned out six seasons over four years, which star Gary Oldman (Jackson Lamb) says is pivotal to the show’s popularity.
“You invest in these people, these fictional people, and then the show ends, and you’ve got to wait two-and-a-half years,” he said last month at the Edinburgh TV Festival, acknowledging it was a “struggle and a fight” to persuade people to keep returning every year, and “keep on top of the quality.”
S2 of Disney+ revival Scrubs premieres with a double-episode on October 1.
Expect a shake-up, reports Deadline, “with OG Neil Flynn and new addition Rachel Bilson getting more screen time and two prominent recurring characters, Dr. Park (Joel Kim Booster) and Charge Nurse Raymond (X Mayo), not returning.
“There is no change to the series’ core trio, which remains intact, with Zach Braff (John “J.D.” Dorian), Donald Faison (Christopher “Turk” Turk) and Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid) returning as series regulars. But they will no longer be the only series regulars in the cast.”
Also back are the group of new interns introduced as recurring last season, including Ava Bunn who’s now a series regular, and “OG fan favourites” John C. McGinley (Perry Cox) and Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa).
