This Weekend in HD: December 10-11

SoHo Highlight: The Hour (Sky 10, 8.30, F) There are tensions for all as the team prepare to defy government instruction and deliver a controversial episode on the crisis in Suez; Freddie finally learns what happened to Ruth; and Hector and Bel come to a decision. The Guardian thought “The Hour capably, if a little predictably, wrapped up its storylines” — which creator Abi Morgan admits were littered with anachronisms. She told The Independent that “dialogue jars“, such as 21st century phrases which would be completely unheard of in the ’50s, “took the audience out of the drama”. Meanwhile, filming of a second series started this week, with The Thick of It’s Peter Capaldi joining the cast, and the Blu-ray of series one goes on sale on January 11. ✭✭✭✭
