Three Lines Up The Block for 2019

Three will replace Dancing With the Stars, which waltzes off our screens on June 16, with The Block NZ: Firehouse 2019.

It will premiere on June 17 and screen 7.30 Monday-Wednesday and 7.00 Sundays.

Four teams will compete to renovate five apartments in a 1930s Georgian revival fire station-cum-18 room boarding house overlooking Eden Park in central Kingsland, Auckland.

At the end of the 12 weeks, each apartment will be put up for auction and the teams will take home any profit they make over the reserve. The team that earns the highest profit above reserve will also take home the extra $100,000 grand prize.

“The complex nature of this year’s build, along with the technical challenges, the heritage features and the sheer size and scale, means teams are really going to have to step up to the mark and work harder than we’ve ever seen on The Block NZ,” says site foreman Peter Wolfkamp.

Also new this year will be judge Lizzi Whaley, chief executive of Spaceworks Design Group.
