Series Highlight: Sons of Anarchy (TV3, 9.30, 5.1) An important club vote gets side tracked when SAMCRO is forced to deal with dangerous external threats against the club. “This is where the fun starts,” the AV Club siad. “Oh sure, there’s little fun awaiting our heroes in Family Recipe, which has a number of chickens coming home to a number of roosts, but it’s fun for us, because here’s where our investment begins to pay off. Here’s where disparate plot threads start knotting themselves together.” Echoed WhatCulture!: “If you asked me what I’d consider to be a perfect episode of Sons Of Anarchy , Family Recipe was pretty much it. The episode was just as hilarious as it was tragic, with plenty of character driven moments as well as just the right amount of requisite action. Even if its been an arguably patchy season, the last few episodes have been a definite confidence boost.” ✮✮✮✮

Harry’s Law (TV One, 9.30) Adam, Oliver and Cassie defend a vigilante superheroine who dresses up as Wonder Woman, while Harry fights for the adoption of a gorilla. "I freely admit I’m as susceptible to a good ratings ploy as anyone else," Entertainment Weekly's Ken Tucker said. "Thus were my eyeballs led to Wednesday night’s Harry’s Law, where Smallville‘s Erica Durance was to be seen wearing a Wonder Woman costume. I’d say this was worth sitting through a script co-authored by show creator David E Kelley, but that’s really not true. Still, as a little media in-joke, at least half of the hour was almost amusing, until it became mired in soggy Kelley-isms."

Home & Away (TV3, 5.30) Casey and Henri share a moment; Irene invites Eddie to her birthday dinner; Bianca learns something unexpected about her baby. ✮✮

Friends (TV2, 6.30, R) Monica caters a party for her mother, who still doesn’t quite know how to talk to her daughter; Chandler’s encounter with Rachel’s boss leads to an embarrassing situation. ✮✮✮✮

Shortland Street (TV2, 7.00) TK finds himself in it alone; Lana’s fun falls flat; Vasa’s bad day ends in tears. ✮✮✮

Two and a Half Men (TV2, 7.30) Upon his release from the hospital, Alan is met with a slew of challenges that test his ability to cope, including one from guest star Gary Busey. ✮✮

SPCA Rescue (TV One, 8.00) An inspector tries to save the victim of a dogfight; a daredevil kitten hitches a ride in the engine of a car; three thin puppies surrendered to the SPCA spark a welfare check on the home from which they came. ✮✮✮

2 Broke Girls (TV2, 8.00) Johnny’s girlfriend Cashandra has a devious plan in mind when she hires Max and Caroline to bake cupcakes for an art show featuring his work. ✮✮

Road Madness (TV3, 8.00) Dangerous driving caught on truck cameras. And — wait for it  — Road Madness American Style: shocking footage of a flying bus. ✮✮

Winners & Losers (TV One, 8.30, F) Bec and Matt’s happy day finally arrives, but the joy is short-lived as a life-changing discovery, an emotional farewell and a surprise declaration of love threaten to turn the girls’ lives upside down once more. ✮✮

The Big Bang Theory (TV2, 8.30) Can friends with benefits still be friends without? Leonard and Penny try hanging out alone, while Sheldon must overcome his fear of birds. ✮✮✮✮

The Almighty Johnsons (TV3, 8.30) Lust, vengeance and some really dodgy stuff involving food. ✮✮✮

Happy Endings (TV2, 9.00) The gang meet Max’s high school girlfriend who gets closer to Dave. ✮✮

The Walking Dead (TV2, 9.30) Rick, Hershel, and Glenn find themselves trapped and having to battle against new foes, both walkers and living humans; Shane attempts to bring Lori back to the farm. ✮✮✮✮

Nikita (TV2, 10.30) Alex is sedated to help her heal after her last mission, but Amanda takes advantage of Alex’s drugged condition to question her; one of Nikita’s contacts double-crosses her. ✮✮✮

CSI: New York (TV3, 11.20, 5.1, R) After a body falls from the 59th Street Bridge, the CSI team finds a compass near the body pointing east, and realizes it’s the third victim of the Compass Killer. ✮✮

This Is Not My LIfe (TV One, 11.55, R) Callie and Alec undergo relationship counselling, and Alec fears the consequences. ✮✮

Sky Movies Premiere: Tamara Drewe (Sky 20, 8.30, 5.1) This bucolic frolic, about the dysfunctional folk of a Dorset village writers’ retreat, is spectacularly picturesque and ripe in promise. But so frustratingly uneven is the execution, veering from dark farce to pastoral parody to perverse tragedy, that the erratic screenplay should have gone back to the drawing board.
