SoHo Highlight: Paradise Lost 3 – Purgatory (Sky 10, 8.30, 5.1) 18 years after three eight-year-old boys were slain in Arkansas, HBO presents the complete inside story of the “West Memphis Three,” who remained imprisoned for years despite new evidence supporting their innocence. “Destined to rank as one of the major achievements in American documentary, the Paradise Lost project comes to a presumed end,” announced Variety before the Peter Jackson-produced West of Memphis screened last month at the Sundance Film Festival. “The new film is more informational than resonant,” said Village Voice. “But you can still sense a vacuum, a rat pit of stories waiting to be unearthed. The dark something that triggered the whole ordeal in West Memphis is still out there.” ✭✭✭✭

Glee (TV3, 7.30, 5.1) Season premiere: The Hollywood Reporter praised the show for going “back to basics” while jazzing up characters like “the new Quinn” but questioned the introduction of a character with “self-diagnosed Aspergers”. Rolling Stone thought season three made a strong start after the series strayed off course last year: “creator Ryan Murphy knew he had to get Glee back on track. And so he promised to remind us of the Glee we loved consistently once upon a time. It’s almost like he wrote Mr Schuester’s pledge to the New Directions to the viewers at home: ‘I’m planning on pushing you harder than you’ve ever been pushed… This year, I’m not planning on letting anyone or anything get in the way … I lost focus.'” ✭✭✭

Dating in the Dark Australia (TV2, 9.30) Series premiere: “Watching Dating in the Dark is exactly like watching people go on dates, in the dark,” said The Age. “The scenes in the dark room are filmed in night vision, giving it all the warmth and coziness of a Baghdad missile strike. But it makes for some interesting viewing at times, because you get to see how people react with their body language when the other person can’t see them. They flinch in ways they would usually disguise politely and, for me, there’s a mildly interesting anthropological pull to that sort of viewing.” ✭✭
