Sky Movies Greats Premiere: Reign of Fire (Sky 22, 8.30, 5.1) Action-thriller about fire-breathing beasts that fuses a medieval past with a post-apocalyptic future. US reviews ranged from, “Loads of fun. It has a jamming B-picture buzz — the kind of swift filmmaking and high spirits that have been missing from movies for a while” (New York Times), to, “A disaster of a drama, saved only by its winged assailants. You know a picture’s in trouble when you find yourself rooting for humankind to lose” (The Washington Post). Matthew McConaughey, Christian Bale and Gerard Butler star; Elektra’s Rob Bowman directs. Friends (TV2, 6.30, R) When a sexy woman calls the wrong number, Chandler seeks to make the most of the situation while income issues divide the friends. ✭✭✭

Shortland Street (TV2, 7.00) Vinnie’s love nest hopes are dashed; Nicole struggles with jealousy; Sarah caves to an emotional plea. ✭✭✭

Drug Bust (TV3, 7.30, R, F) Police raid a suspected gang meth house; a driver finds himself in hot water after avoiding a checkpoint; a search for a missing man yields signs of drug use; and police crack down on drugged drivers. ✭✭

Criminal Minds (TV One, 8.30) The BAU team investigates a mass murder at an internet security company, but clues reveal it is not a typical serial killer at work; Prentiss must complete re-certification training under Morgan’s watchful eye. ✭✭

Movie: The Transporter (TV3, 8.30, 5.1, R) Jason Statham plays an ultra-cool killer courier in this dodgy yet dynamite French thriller. He delivers hazardous goods to dangerous destinations no questions asked. His only rule: “Never open the package.” Breaking this to discover his latest cargo is alive, kicking and drop-dead gorgeous embroils him in a deadly game of gung-ho gun-upmanship with clients who want to FedEx him to hell. The result is adrenalin-pumping escapism that’s as fast and furious as it is far-fetched. ✭✭✭✭

Person of Interest (TV One, 9.30) When the Machine directs Reese and Finch to a former soldier with shady connections to a crime ring, Reese must infiltrate the gang by taking part in their heist. ✭✭

Shameless (TV2, 11.10, F) Season finale: Steve tries to convince Fiona to leave town with him after Tony discovers his true livelihood and threatens him with jail if he doesn’t leave; Frank and Karen’s secret is discovered. ✭✭✭✭

Nurse Jackie (TV3, 11.15, 5.1, R)  Jackie and her husband continue to suspect that their daughter is suffering from anxiety, and consider enrolling her in a private school. (Episode two of tonight’s double-ep is directed by Steve Buscemi.) ✭✭✭✭

Hank (TV2, 12.15, R) Repeat of the Kelsey Grammer comedy that was the Frasier star’s second consecutive primetime flop. ✭✭✭
