SoHo Highlight: The Killing (Sky 10, 9.30, 5.1) Season-finale encore: Does the long overdue revelation of who was behind Rosie Larsen’s murder redeem the series? Not according to Time’s James Poniewozik: “But I have to give it some credit: after one psych-out after another, the final reveal was, if not gaspingly stunning, emotionally effective in a way I didn’t expect.” And one of the show’s harshest critics, The Hollywood Reporter’s Tim Goodman, reversed his earlier verdict on not resolving the whodunit earlier: “By taking the central question out of the equation – who killed Rosie Larsen? – it allowed the excellent work of the actors on the series to shine through. Watching The Killing this season has been a real pleasure because Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman, Bill Campbell, Brent Sexton and the other actors in the cast have absolutely nailed it. Meaning, if you watch The Killing for the acting and not the mystery, it’s been a fine season.” ✭✭✭

Ice Road Truckers (TV3, 7.30, 5.1, F) Season finale: George Spears retires; Lisa drives for 300 miles with no brakes; Alex and Hugh’s rivalry heats up. Surprisingly, after top ratings for this season, TV3 is replacing Ice Road Truckers with re-runs of Grand Designs rather than going straight into season four (season six is airing in the US). That’s because the network hasn’t yet acquired the rights to season four but is considering it for next year, In the meantime, it was released here last month on DVD but not on Blu-ray; in the US, both seasons three and four can be bought on Blu-ray. ✭✭✭

CSI: Miami (TV3, 9.30, 5.1) Season nine resumes from episode 14, when a high-school bully is kidnapped, tied to a goalpost and stoned to death. ✭✭

Unforgettable (TV One, 10.15, 5.1, R) Poppy Montgomery stars as a detective with a medical condition that means she can’t forget anything, except for details from the day her sister was murdered. As The Dominion Post’s Jane Clifton remarked of the premiere (which, bizarrely, TV2 will repeat Sunday week with episode two): “Best to state the bleeding obvious right away: TV One’s new Monday drama, Unforgettable, is not particularly memorable … This is just yet another police procedural, tricked up with a gimmick in the hope that viewers will mistake it for a tremendous novelty. They won’t.” ✭✭
