SoHo Highlight: Treme (Sky 10, 9.30, 5.1) Season finale: Jazz Fest gives Treme residents a welcome respite from a challenging year. The AV Club club said “this thoughtful, lovely finale shrugged off virtually every apparent narrative obligation and still brought the season to a satisfying conclusion”. What’s Alan Watching argued Do Watcha Wanna illustrated “perhaps the greatest difference” between Treme and co-creator David Simon’s previous series, The Wire: “Simon and [Eric] Overmyer take more pity on these characters and are more willing to cut them a break than Simon and [Ed] Burns did on The Wire. So it’s less of an oddity when something good happens to a long-suffering character.” Season two bows here on Blu-ray this time next month but season three won’t premiere for another six months. ✮✮✮✮✮
