Season Finale: NCIS: Los Angeles (TV3, 9.3, 5.1, F)  The third season concludes with the team being drawn into a deadly mind game with a master criminal motivated by revenge that results in a fireball from hell. Executive producer Shane Brennan told Entertainment Weekly: “I’ve been doing this for 30 years and that explosion—in the world of blowing things up—is a triple A+. And that explosion, that hasn’t been enhanced with any computer graphics at all, and when you see it on the air we have not touched it.” While Sans Voir was not nearly as thrilling as last year’s finale, it will certainly have greater ramifications for the team,” TV Fanatic said. ✮✮✮


Sky Movies Greats Premiere: V for Vendetta (Sky 22, 8.30, 5.1) The futuristic graphic novel that was spawned by ‘80s Thatcherism has been updated to a post-9/11 rumination on how government by the people can be manipulated into government of the people. Brimming with ideas and literary allusions, it stars Hugo Weaving as an improbable superhero who’s an avenging terrorist with a just cause: vanquishing the tyranny of Fascism. Co-star John Hurt dubbed it a cross between two of his movies: “1984 meets Alien”. (2005) ✮✮✮

Home & Away (TV3, 5.30) Liam is confused about what’s happening with Hayley; Casey apologises to Mr Townsend, but it might not be enough; the girls are plan a surprise farewell for Colleen. ✮✮

Friends (TV2, 6.30, R) Gary asks Phoebe to move in with him; Monica and Chandler join Ross and Joey in a game of catch that lasts for hours. ✮✮✮

Shortland Street (TV2, 7.00) Murray lets himself be talked down; Phoenix is drawn in by the dark side; Rachel almost leans on an old friend. ✮✮✮

The Middle (TV2, 7.30, 5.1) Sue yearns to celebrate her leap year birthday in a big way, but given Frankie and Mike’s track record with celebrations, she might need to lower her expectations. ✮✮✮✮

Suburgatory (TV2, 8.00, 5.1) Tessa struggles to impress her new poetry teacher; Fred Shay is convinced that Sheila has ‘the hots’ for George. ✮✮

Funny Roots (TV3, 8.00) Cori Gonzalez-Macuer returns to the place he was born, Chile, to find his funny roots in his native tongue. While there, he finds out about the Chilean sense of humour and performs his set in Spanish. ✮✮✮

Intrepid Journeys (TV One, 8.30) Singer Annie Crummer travels to Peru where she is forced to eat roast guinea pig, confront her fear of spiders, and take on a challenging three-day hike. ✮✮✮

GCB (TV2, 8.30, 5.1) When Carlene’s Uncle Burl returns with his wife, Gigi throws them a homecoming party; Blake recruits Amanda to consult for Cricket’s clothing line; Pastor Tudor counsels Sharon and Zack. ✮✮✮

NCIS (TV3, 8.30, 5.1) Top-secret clearance from a Naval research laboratory is jeopardised when the murder of a Chief Petty Officer is connected to an international arms dealer. ✮✮

The Closer (TV One, 11.00, 5.1) A shooting in a school parking lot leaves one person dead, another person critically wounded and a car loaded with marijuana. ✮✮✮✮
