I could be wrong but I think that The Mentalist last night (TV2, 9:30) was in 5.1 Dolby Digital. The dialogue was definitely coming out the centre channel. I don’t watch the programme usually but happened to catch the beginning after Amazing Race Australia. I checked the MySky EPG and it wasn’t listed as 5.1 so am not sure, maybe just testing yet again. Can anyone else confirm?

  2. Yes, that would be right. TVNZ has started broadcasting in 5.1, although with mixed results according to comments left on this site. Unfortunately, because of a software snafu, it’s not willing to publicise which programmes will air in 5.1 as it can’t guarantee they will be transmitted as such.
